Information

3000 kg of fibreglass, 300 kg of paint, 30000 watts for lighting and sound, 300 bulbs for illumination, 6 km of cable, 12 lorries used for transport, 1200 figures and more than 20000 hours of work were necessary to create this Belén.

We would like to emphasize some aspects of this great work. For instance, the tree of the Census in Bethlehem. To create it, more than 95000 leaves were used as follows: first, 6 brass leaves are piled and held by an axis. A wire is then coiled around this axis. By soldering different wires, tree braches are formed.

The leaves have been painted in oils in three different shades of green. The tree is 1.15m high and 90cm wide.

Another interesting detail in this work is the Mill Game, one of the oldest games in the world. A board of this game was found engraved in the ceiling of the Temple of Kürna, in Egypt. This temple was built in 1400 b.c. Another board was discovered in the excavations in Troya.

The Mill Game shown in our Belén is the oldest version of the game. Two players play against each other with nine counters of the same colour each.

By giving here this information and examples we want to show people the effort and dedication we put into this work. We did not miss the small details in all those 300 square meters of El Belén.
